Harlan Teklad Global Lab Blocks
We highly recommend it as part of a nutritionally complete diet, as do many other rat breeders and owners.
Unlike many rodent foods, it doesn't contain any alfalfa, which ratties can't digest, and has a made on date, so you know it is fresh.
We prefer blocks over seed or fruit mixes because it prevents ratties from selectively eating only part of their diet, potentially missing needed nutrients.
The last two numbers of the formulas indicate the percentage of protein.We carry 2014, 2016, 2018, and 8604 formulas and 8664 by special Order only (for lactating and nursing rats).
2014 contains 14.5% protein and 4% fat (Suggested for males over 8 months and senior females (1.5-2 yrs old), protein sensitive, or overweight rats)
2016 contains 16.7% protein and 4.2% fat (Suggested for females over 6 months, and males over 3- 4 months)
2018 contains 18.8% protein and 6% fat (Suggested for females under 6 months, and males under 3-4 months)
8604 contains 24.3% protein and 4.7% fat (some folks use this as a general rat diet, for any age rat)
8664 contains 24.8% protein and 6.5% fat (Suggested for late term pregnant, lactating, nursing, and weaning rats)

Homemade Ratty Rat Snack Mix
We originally started making this mix for our own ratties, but I've had many requests for it, so we decided to offer it on the store. Our rats go nuts over it, and we use it to fill many of our treat feeders.
This mix is intended to be a supplement and/or treat to Harlan Teklad, Regal Rat, or other Rat/rodent block. Our mix is soy, alfalfa, and corn free.
Some delicious items found in our mix are: rolled oats, steel cut oats, puffed millet, rolled barely, hulled millet, organic toasted oats cereal, crisped brown rice cereal, pepita seeds, banana chips, spinach pasta, sunflower seeds, puffed kamut, puffed brown rice, flax seeds, dried papaya, dehydrated peas, dried pineapple, dried dates, shredded coconut and more!
Some of our ingredients change based on availability, but is always nutritious and delicious. All Ingredients are human grade, purchased at our local health food store. All dried fruit has no added sugar.
